Vaccination numbers are going up … percentage of Ontarians with a first dose over 76%; second dose over 45%. Kelly and I both received our second shots last week … Moderna … and both of us had side effects for a couple days afterwards. Border restrictions are slowly being relaxed for second dosed Canadians … so hopefully we can start travelling again (read cruise / Mexico ) next year. Canada Day was celebrated last Thursday (kind of … many places did not have events due to reaction to indigenous unmarked graves being discovered at former residential schools ) and that called for three straight nights of fireworks around here. Doug the Dog wasn’t a fan of the noise … he jumped into bed when the fireworks started. more places have been reopening … Phase 3 still on track for the end of July … should almost be back to normal again 😊  We watched the 4th of July celebrations on tv last night … very impressive firework show put on by Macy’s in New York. We have our movers booked for the end of August … so slowly starting to pack boxes, get rid of unneeded crap, etc.😊 Our contractor is meeting with us this week … hopefully we will be able to get a ballpark figure on the renovations .   Okay, on to food … leftovers and  BBQ … Pork and Bok Choy Soup; Spanish Paella (that lasted for two days); Pork Tenderloin Tortillas, etc. … we have to start using up what we have stored in the freezers for the move .  Kelly and I still haven’t found anything new on Netflix or Prime … mainly watching home improvement shows, farm renovations, etc. .  I binge watched ‘The Unremarkable Juanquini’ on Netflix – a comedy series set in Bogota, Columbia. It’s about an inept magician who accidently makes a cartel crime boss disappear. Just like real life, right?  It started off pretty shaky but if you liked shows like ‘Soap’ or ‘Arrested Development’ it’s actually not bad – pretty corny with lots of plot switches. So again … I need something new. But, wait … there’s more!! I’ve started rewatching ‘Money Heist’ (Casa De Papel) to get ready for Season 5 starting in September – I was afraid that the quality wouldn’t hold up after seeing  so many other good series on Netflix over the last couple of years; but it’s still one of the best (in my opinion) crime / thriller series ever done!! On to golf …  PGA had the  Travelers' Championship last week – the Canadians were pretty bad – the less said the better. The Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit started Thursday – six Canadians took part - - four made the cut – Mackenzie Hughes, Roger Sloan, Michael Gligic (tied 42), and Nick Taylor (tied 52) – a respectable showing for the Canadians. On the Charles Swab Senior Tour Money List – Mike Weir is in 8th place for approximately $1.5 M U.S. and Stephen Ames in 21st for approximately $855 K U.S. – not bad salaries for playing golf 😊 … On to hockey – Montreal is on the verge of being swept by Tampa Bay – 3 games to 0 now  - they could get wiped out tonight - pretty sad considering there are more Canadians on the U.S. team☹; Got to go … have a great and safe week … we will see you in a bit!!
