So the weather back to up and down … cold and wet, a couple of warm days … and a little snow forecast for next week COVID is now out of control in Ontario … much stricter restrictions were passed … everything non-essential closed (except for curbside and delivery) … grocery stores down to 25% capacity … playgrounds closed … police allowed to stop people and ask why they are out … and are people paying attention? No - - police refuse to stop people, playgrounds have been reopened, people ignoring new rules Case in point … called to complain about multiple teenagers playing across the street … no masks, non-family, etc. … police say that is not their concern, send an email to the COVID bylaw enforcement – which won’t be answered (if at all) until Monday … And the result – 13 kids playing, screaming, bouncing balls off cars, lawns, etc. ..And if nothing done, it will be like this for the next five weeks So does it really matter? What if one person is infected, and passes it on? Now, you have a super spreader among families, work, neighborhoods, etc. But in 2 months we will be moving into a new house and the only thing we should have to worry about is stray bullets from the local gun range and the occasional stray cow or goat … And tomorrow I get my vaccination!! I had a little memory moment last Wednesday the 14th of April, 32 years ago I ran my best marathon time in Boston … that’s me on the left a lot skinnier and younger … Overall I ended up running 39 full marathons and 3 ultras … 50, 70, and 110 kilometers!! Okay, on to food … again there aren’t a lot of pictures of food … a lot of the old standbys – curries, pasta with meat sauce, Lamb Kofta, Mexican Birria, casseroles, tomato soup and grilled cheese, etc. – and tonight I’m making Chicken Carbonara with Fresh Pasta Kelly and I are into Season 3 of ‘Sneaky Pete’ on Prime … it’s a lot slower (and more boring) than the first two seasons, but with only 5 more episodes we’ll finish it off. I finished watching ‘Bitter Daisies – Season 2’ – it got better in the last episode and left an opening for Season 3. I’ve gone back to watching ‘Cable Girls’ on Netflix – there are 6 seasons – and though it’s a little too romantic and telenovela (very reminiscent of ‘Grand Hotel’) it’s during an interesting period of Spain – the late ‘20’s leading up to and through the Spanish Civil War. The Masters finished up last week – Hideki Matsuyama being the first Japanese player ever to win a major ($2.07M), congratulations - and Corey Connors tied for 8th !! Nice payout of $345K U.S. Mackenzie Hughes came in around 41st, still an excellent showing!! Corey Connors is making a name for himself in golf – 3 top ten finishes in the last 4 tournaments played This week he’s playing at the RBC Invitational – he’s tied for 6th going into the last round today. Got to go … want to drive by another place we are selling … have a great and safe week … we will see you in a bit!!
