Third Week of October … Snout of Africa…

Boeuf Bourguignon and Tagliatelle 2
Moroccan Ground Lamb with Rice
tagliatelle and meat sauce 3
beef and potato curry sep

Another cold wet weekend, and it looks like more of the same  for this week ☹  Last night I made a Baked Balsamic Chicken Parmesan with Fresh Spaghettini – turned out really well. Last week was pretty much all leftovers – way too much large size portions cooked the week before; Chili (on squash); Beef Bourguignon (on squash); Lima Bean casserole (no squash); Chicken Stuffed Pineapple (okay fresh, not leftover); Roast Beef dinner (again fresh); and Moroccan Lamb with Chickpeas😊 Making the original Lamb and reheating the leftovers brought back memories – read about it in ‘Snout of Africa’ if you like 😊  Kelly bought and cooked a turkey last week – lots of turkey recipes coming up this week – turkey curry, turkey soup, turkey pasta casserole; turkey pot pie; you get the idea 😊 Kelly and I finished watching  ‘The Haunting of Bly Manor’  -  a really, really poor adaptation of  Henry James ‘The Turn of the Screw’. Bad acting, fake accents that you couldn’t tell what they were saying; and a reconfigured plot that made no sense at all. I give it 1 out of 5 paws ☹ I  finished ‘To The Lake’ – the Russian series about a pandemic virus that pretty well wipes out Russian civilization– it was outstanding!! The last episode ended on a shocker that I didn’t see coming – unfortunately it covered everything that the book that it was based on did, so probably won’t be a Season 2 ☹ Still following ‘La Nina’ – I’ve done 22 out of 83 episodes. I like it a lot – it describes how children who were kidnapped by Columbian guerillas were re-integrated into society. The only downside of watching ‘La Nina’ is that there is  a subplot involving the Dean of Medicine’s wife that really should never  have been  in the  show in the first place ☹ I followed the PGA Tournament CJ Cup in Las Vegas = 4 Canadians qualified but there was no cut – an invitational that had all players play all four rounds. Just as well, the Canadian golfers sucked . Speaking of sucked – lots of upsets in the NFL games on Sunday – New England, Green  Bay, Minnesota, and LA Rams all lost. On the other hand, Seattle with a bye is the only undefeated team with a record of 5-0!! Go Hawks’!! Have a great and safe week … we will see you in a bit!!
