Life is a little less stressful these days … but back to work tomorrow after a long time off … and a funeral next weekend And that’s all I’m going to say about that … On a brighter note … Dougie the Doggie has helped me lose more weight … he got away again … here’s a hint … if you ever have to adjust your dogs harness – don’t do it outside – he was off like a shot … and we did cross country across a field this time … but he found his own way home – and I lost about another 5 pounds He’s getting better, a lot more comfortable now around the house – hard to imagine it’s been four weeks already It’s still hot and muggy around here – but not a lot of rain – front and back lawns look like desert- twitch grass and hard packed dirt Went to Ridgetown last Sunday with my buddy ‘Ping-Pong-Paddle-Pat’ (in the picture – the nickname, that’s a long story in itself) – we were playing some of out best golf ever – and you guessed it – thunder and lightning, another rain check after only playing seven holes But got a rain check for 18 holes for two peoples, so we will try again this week. People are starting to call us ‘Storm Hunters’ Tonight is fresh pasta with my famous (to me, anyways) Italian meat sauce and fresh parmesan Over the last week we’ve cooked mainly old standards – some with a twist. I took a standard Shepherd’s Pie – added a little Mexican flavoring; put a layer of Monterey Jack between the corn and potato topping – very tasty. We have had various types of curry –Beef, Chicken, and Mango. I did Mediterranean Cod the other night with an orzo pasta to go along with it – that was good!! the list goes on and on – I usually post what we are having for dinner on Facebook. But, something special – last Saturday I smoked 7 pounds of brisket and 5 pounds of lamb – there will be lots of pulled smoked beef and lamb tacos and Mexican dishes in the near future!! Kelly and I have finished ‘Good Girls’ Season 3 – it’s pretty good and I am sure they will do a Season 4. Kelly and I have started watching a Spanish series ‘Morocco – Love In The Time Of War’ - excellent period drama in the early 1920’s about the Rif War between Spain and Berber tribesmen. I’ve finished my Danish series – Season 5 of ‘Rita’ – good way to finish, probably the last season – and completed ‘The Rain’ – excellent finish. I watched both seasons of ‘Ingobernable’ – wife of Mexican president on the run after supposedly killing her husband – Season 1 so-so, Season 2 exciting, ended on a cliff hanger. Originally Season 3 was cancelled due to perceived political conflicts in real life, but now has got the go ahead to be on Netflix in December 2020. Oh, got to go … Doug wants to take me out for a walk, and then I have to sort through 1500 emails from work I’ll update this coming Monday. Until then, have a great and safe week … we will see you in a bit!!
