The last week has been pretty busy … lots of work and lots of cooking! And very sad news out of Nova Scotia with that mass shooting on Sunday – condolences to the families of the slain and injured. I knew that area very well when I lived back east ☹ Today should have been the running of The Boston Marathon … but as with so many other events during this covid-19 pandemic … postponed until September. I like Boston a lot – spent a lot of time there and also ran 4 Boston Marathons in ’87 (picture at left), ’89, ’90, and’93. I made a Tortola (not Tortuga, I used Tortola Rum) Rum Cake on the weekend for the very first time – wasn’t perfect, but it was very good! 😊 Kelly made a Madras Chicken with Paneer the other day – excellent, one of the best Indian dishes I have ever had. I also did a Spanish Paella with Chicken, Sausage, and shrimp … and then yesterday a Steak and Kidney Pie. Another three quick suppers (and a cake) for during the week 😊.  I’ve been immersing myself in Russian Netflix series over the past week -Finished ‘Fartsa’ a comedy / drama set in the early ‘60’s in Moscow – started and finished ‘Locust’, a psychological thriller / love story gone wrong – and started ‘The Sniffer’, probably the most watched crime series ever in Russian, about a man with an extraordinary olfactory sense that he uses to help solve crimes. Kelly and I have only 3 more episodes to watch of ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ on Amazon Prime, it has been pretty good. Getting a little bored being confined to the house? Try one of my recipes … or learn a new language .. I’ve put up a few links to some excellent language courses. Have a great and safe week … we’ll see you in a bit!!
