The first five days of 2020 have come and gone … New Years Eve was pretty quiet; we were in bed by 11 pm … guess we’re getting old New Year’s day came and went … I made a traditional Quebecois tourtiere with green beans on the side. I made the pastry from scratch, the tourtiere was great, had the leftovers last night. I also whipped up a beef curry during the week, quick and easy to make for supper. I watched the NFL wild card yesterday … Buffalo should have won, I mean how do you blow a 16-point lead in the third quarter, and the fourth, and over time?? However, watching Tennessee beat New England more than made up for that I took it easy today … cleaned the house, baked a cheesecake and planning supper. We have watched the last couple of episodes of Undercover … excellent finale, but with a teaser for season 2. Started a new series, season 1 of Hotel Beau Sejour (Belgian – Flemish with English subtitles) – a different type of show; the main character wakes up in a hotel one morning only to find her murdered body in the bathroom. Excellent, we still have the last 3 episodes to watch. I’ve caught up on writing reviews of Netflix foreign shows … I’ve done the French, Belgian, Spanish, Icelandic, Norwegian, and Finnish series … don’t judge me … nothing worse than criticizing a critic … I’m new to this game I’ve been studying my languages for two hours a day – going to start cutting down to refreshing 3 languages only for the next two months – Spanish, French, and Dutch … the first two for our trip to Mazatlan in just over two months, the last for the number of Belgian / Dutch films that are on Netflix – I like watching them in the original language with English subtitles. I snuck in a picture of the Christmas Doodle (aka Zeke the Dog) checking out his Xmas stocking ... I know it was last week ... but hey, he's cute!! Today’s the last two NFL wildcard games – New Orleans will probably win the first … I hope my Seahawks can beat Philadelphia tonight. Have a great week … go ‘Hawks!!
