24 hours from now will be our first day on Silhouette – fly to Fort Lauderdale, get on the ship in Miami, sit on the sunset bar and have a few drinks while we’re sailing out. Hopefully, anyways. Weather forecast is for snow and freezing rain tomorrow morning and if our plane doesn’t take off in time and we miss the ship … well … crap. I guess it would mean a couple of extra days in Miami and a flight to the USVI to catch the ship on Wednesday. Kelly and I finished watching season 1 of The Break – (Belgian with English subtitles – 10 episodes) an excellent thriller about a Belgian detective returning home after the death of his wife and getting involved in the murder of a soccer star his first day back. Every episode has a twist that keeps you guessing, right up to the last 10 minutes of the end of season 1. Season 2 of Alta Mar (Spanish with English subtitles – 8 episodes) started on 22nd November – it’s a little hoaky, with new characters (come on, how do you get new characters in the middle of the ocean) and possible ghosts, but the scenery is gorgeous and if you take the plot with a bag of salt, fun and not too bad. And we finished that last night. Oh, I didn’t add any new recipes … when we go on vacation we try to use up all the leftovers in the refrigerator, throw stuff together, and see what happens. … and that elimination pool the other week … it got down to 3 people (me included 😊 ) and we ended up with $333 each … not bad, eh? So we just finished packing, Zeke the dog is over at the doggie kennel and we are ready to head out to Toronto for an overnight and hopefully fly out tomorrow. Have a great week … and I hope to keep up the blog every two days or so on board.
