Temperatures are falling and lots of rain!! Thanks to Doug the Rotor Tiller our back yard is looking like a WW I battlefield – looks like we are going to have to returf the whole thing next spring Quite the wind storm yesterday – wind gusts up to 55 mph. It’s supposed to snow for the next 3 days – and then melt again by Friday!! Didn’t take a drive around the countryside this weekend – what with maskless protests around St. Thomas and Aylmer it doesn’t feel safe to go outside any more If they want to go extinct – let them – just don’t take us along with you Speaking of idiots – D. J. Trump (“President In Exile Elect”) still refuses to concede to Joe Biden – give it up Don, you’re putting your country’s security and health at risk On a happier note, it was our 14th wedding anniversary on Friday (the 13th) – that’s us on the left taken on the beach in Antigua - we were on a cruise. Best 700 $1 dollar bills (U.S.) I ever spent. The wedding organizer wanted paid in cash and all I could get out of the local ATM was dollar bills … so there you go!! Third picture is next day in St. Lucia - a little hung-over 🙂 We spent our first anniversary in Panama, the second on a Panama Canal Cruise, the fourth on a Caribbean Cruise – lots of anniversaries at sea or at a resort. But not this year – and we were supposed to be on another cruise in two weeks … thanks, COVID But hopefully, next November … Last Sunday I made a Pork Tenderloin with Tomatoes and Olives and Feta Cheese – quite good. Last week ended up being comfort food and leftovers; last Tuesday was a macaroni, sausage, bacon and tomato casserole; and Wednesday more of the same as there was lots left over; and Thursday I made a Pork and Lima Bean Casserole; Friday was Chinese Chicken Curry; and Saturday – more comfort food with Ground Pork, Tofu, and Green Onions. Last night, Pork Roast with Mushroom Gravy and Hungarian Style Potatoes – turned out excellent. Tonight Kelly is making something with chicken, not sure exactly, but will be good Dishwasher broke down last night Had to unload and wash and dry by hand. It took a while, I couldn’t find the manual manual – brought back memories of kitchen duty on board navy ships . Last night we finished watching Season 2 of ‘Undercover’ – excellent police crime series – rated one of the best this year on Netflix. I’m Still following ‘Pablo Escobar – Patron del Mal’ – I’ve now done 32 out of 74 episodes. Starting to get a little heavy – all the corruption, drugs, and screwed up relationships. So I’m trying something lighter – ‘Borgen’ – a Danish series about corruption, drugs, and screwed up relationships. Just kidding – there’s no drugs yet. Actually, it’s an excellent political drama and ran for 3 years from 2010 -2012. It just came on Netflix this year and was so popular that they are planning a season 4 to start in 2022. We are looking for some new shows to watch – there’s a Norwegian Christmas series coming up, I watched Season 1 last year of ‘Home For Christmas’ – it was excellent. Making me a little dizzy following shows in Spanish, Belgian (Flemish), Danish and Norwegian I followed the Masters Tournament in Georgia – postponed from last May, again thanks COVID But Dustin Johnson won – the lowest 72 hole total in Masters History – for a payout of $2.07 Million U.S. – and he has a Canadian connection, he’s Wayne Gretzky’s son-in-law 4 Canadians qualified but three made the cut of Top 50 and ties – which is pretty good – including Mike Weir who won back in 2000. Corey Connors was top Canadian – tied for 10th with a payout of $287.5 K U.S. Not too many upsets in the NFL games on Sunday … only two; Baltimore losing to New England (which any other year with TB12 wouldn’t have been surprising – but with Patriots record of now 3-6, well …) and New York Giants whipping Philadelphia Eagles 27 - 17 – okay, not an upset – but was my only loss in the early games. I won’t even mention my Seahawks – that was the worst I have ever seen Russell Wilson play, really bad decisions They are playing Cardinals again next week – good luck with that, there is now a 3-way tie for first place in that division. Have a great and safe week … we will see you in a bit!!
