Okay,  so we know where the birds have been … flying around aimlessly, not sure whether to fly south to the U.S. or stay here… wherever they could get their vaccine shots early 😊 …And good news  on that front … everybody in Ontario might be able to get their first shots by the end of June!! 😊 (But I’ll believe that when it happens) … But Spring has sprung … and it’s  great … warm during  the day, cool at night … and probably another big snowfall around Easter weekend! 😊 A year ago today we flew back from Mazatlan (that’s us on the left, DIY masks on as we couldn’t get the real thing) … when we got to the airport at Dallas Fort Worth we came across this lady (??) in the waiting lounge … apparently she knew more than we did at that time ☹  But we actually had a great time in Mazatlan … made a lot of local friends, went shopping for a new house down there (you can guess how that worked out), got some sun on the beach … and ate a lot of great food!! I got through my first week at my new job … I think I like it … a lot 😊. Okay, on to food … Steaks (with baked beans and spuds), Spinach Stuffed Chicken Breasts with pasta, Chinese food (Spicy Hoisin Pork,  Ground Pork with Tofu, Curries),  leftovers (mango chicken, chiles), making a Beef Rendang for tonight … and of course, smoothies – a new routine – we both start work around 8 am, I make a smoothie to start off the day😊  Quick tip for people who love fresh strawberries but hate hulling (taking out the center core and leaves) … take a milkshake straw and push through from the bottom to the top (as at left) … I can hull a pint in 5 minutes easily 😊 Kelly and I are still watching ‘Longmire’ – we are halfway through Season 6 ( the last Season) – still a lot of holes in the plot … but we have enjoyed it, so we need something else to watch.  I  have almost finished Season 2 of  ‘Locked Up’ (‘Vis-à-Vis’)  - and it is better (and darker) than Season 1 – the acting is great, the  plot is fairly solid, and it’s great to watch. It’s also the series that Alba Flores (as ‘Saray’) got her big break in – the director of ‘Money Heist’ was so impressed by her performance that he created the role of ‘Nairobi’ – and we know how that turned  out 😊. Golf goes on - The Honda Championship in Florida was won by Matt Jones ($1.2 M U.S.) - Lee Westwood,  who came in second  his last two tournaments, didn’t even make the  cut this week (as he said – tired and worn  out 😊) –  three out of six Canadians made the cut –  Adam Hadwin (T8th - $190K U.S.), Roger Sloan (T25th - $50K U.S.),and Mackenzie Hughes (T36th - $30K U.S.) – that was a pretty good showing for Canadians, four years ago you wouldn't see this many playing. This upcoming week I’ll be having a couple of anniversaries (both on the same day, 23rd March) – my Father died 20 years ago; and I graduated from Basic Training in the Canadian Armed Forces 43 years ago – more on those events in next weeks write ups. Got to go … have a great and safe week … we will see you in a bit!!
