I haven’t updated in two weeks … been pretty busy with packing and picking out new floorings, tile, etc. for the new house – we take ownership in a week and a half!! 
We’ve met with the contractor – Alidio (who built our current house) – and we have a pretty good idea of what needs changed (and more important approximately how much it’s going to cost us) . Vaccination numbers are still going up … Ontario now in Stage 3 of reopening … but there’s a gigantic fourth wave happening in the U.S. – and 99% of those becoming ill are the ones that won’t get vaccinated for whatever reason 
. The Tokyo Olympics start in less than a week’s time – which is going to be a catastrophic error IMPO – spectators won’t be allowed; Tokyo is in a state of pandemic emergency; and oh, yeah … the first athletes over there have started testing positive – 55 at last count And then there’s the athletes that refuse to get vaccinated because it might impact their performance – selfish bastards!! This coming Sunday Doug the Dog will have been with us for a year !! … And he seems to really like it here now; I don’t have the heart to tell him that we are moving!! . Let’s see how he makes out in the countryside . Okay, on to food … it’s been challenging the last couple of weeks … we are trying to use up what’s in the two freezers so not a lot of new recipes … but lots of old standards and leftovers; pastas; steaks; burgers and sausages; Chinese dishes (lots of pork ones); Mexican dishes (lots of pork ones); and lots of pork dishes as well!! . Although I think I am going to do a Beef Rendang for tonight’s supper!! Kelly and I were looking for something new to watch on Prime … and we came up with a humorous documentary – ‘Clarkson’s Farm’ . It follows Jeremy Clarkson as he tries to embark on a new career; farming a 1000 acre estate in the Cotswolds' in Southern England. It’s pretty funny but at the same time gives you an idea of how hard it is for farmers to survive. Clarkson net worth is about $60 Million U.S. – he’s known in England for being a journalist, auto show host, and the host of U.K.’s ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’ – and has been rather controversial over the years. I binge watched ‘Money Heist’ on Netflix – the first four seasons – in preparation for Part 1 of Season 5 staring in September. I had planned on watching an episode a day so that there would only be a small gap before the first episodes. Well, that didn’t work out – I did all thirty-two episodes in about a weeks time so I still have almost two months to wait for the new episodes. I found a couple of continuity errors but on the whole it was more enjoyable to watch the second time through and is still one of the best crime thriller series ever!! … And now I have ‘Bella Ciao, Bella Ciao’ stuck in my head (picture on left) – when you watch the series (and everyone should – it’s the number one non-English series ever watched on TV) you’ll understand!! On to golf … PGA had the John Deere Classic two weeks ago in Illinois – the Canadians were pretty bad – the less said the better. This past weekend was The Open Championship in Sandwich, England. Colin Morikawa had an impressive win – 15 under – for his second major and $2.07 Million U.S. Two Canadians made the cut – Corey Connors and Mackenzie Hughes – at one point they were tied for fourth place in the last round; then Hughes made a respectable 6th place finish ($450 K U.S.) and Connors choked and ended up tied for 15th ( $152 K U.S.). On the Charles Swab Senior Tour – Mike Weir tied for second two weeks ago in the Senior PGA Open Championship … On to hockey – the less said the better - Montreal lost to Tampa Bay in the Stanley Cup Final – 4 games to 1 ; However the expansion draft for the new Seattle Kraken hockey team is this Wednesday – and Carey Price (Montreal goaltender) is not on the protected list – he might get picked and he played junior hockey nearby and his wife is from Washington State . After over fifty years a Maple Leaf fan I’m going to switch over to Seattle!! Got to go … have a great and safe week … we will see you in a bit!!
