Okay, so the weather has kind of gone back to normal for this time of year – cool and rainy – from being super warm and sunny the last couple of weeks. … But, nowhere near as nasty as last year with the snow and winds COVID is rearing it’s ugly head again – or more accurately people are being stupid, mass socializing during spring break, ignoring distancing, etc. – and the numbers of infected people in Ontario are rising again Four more regions are going into Grey Level – lockdown with pretty harsh restrictions – and several are probably going back into Red Level – not as severe as Grey but still not a lot of fun. Us included … our numbers having been going up the last week, it’s just a matter of time before we are Red, or even Grey We took a drive around to the south of us yesterday … of course took Doug the Dog with us … stopped in Aylmer to pick up some Mexican cheeses and tomatilloes, drove through St. Thomas, Shedden, Wallacetown, and Dutton. Drove by a house and property that we might be interested in outside Wallacetown – looking at it today again, see if it’s worth investing in. The problem with real estate in Ontario today is that everyone wants to move out of the bigger cities and buy up places in South Western Ontario – property is much cheaper ( or it used to be) and more people can work from home so they don’t have to live close to where they work. … And the result – as soon as a place gets listed it will probably get 20 viewings and bought for about $100K over listing price within a couple of days – a lot of times it will be bought online on the internet without the buyers even visiting the site. Makes it tough to find the perfect home – well, okay, we have the perfect home but it’s getting time to downsize for retirement so we can still look around Okay, on to food … lots of Chinese and Indonesian dishes this week - Szechuan Pork; Beef Rendang; curries; I made a Pork Tomatillo Salsa Verde / Morito yesterday with the stuff we bought in Aylmer, Steaks and Beans tonight, and tomorrow probably making either a jambalaya or paella with lots of shrimp, chicken and sausage Kelly and I finally finished watching ‘Longmire’ – the plot was pretty questionable and left a lot of questions unanswered, almost like the writers were rushing to finish the series – but it’s done … and wasn’t too bad overall. We need something else to watch – we tried ‘Godless’ … that lasted fifteen minutes … and are now watching ‘Sneaky Pete’ on Prime … looks like it might be okay I finished Season 2 of ‘Locked Up’ (‘Vis-à-Vis’) - and it was pretty good … and then Netflix happened The series got cancelled after Season 2 but was picked up by Netflix for Seasons 3, 4, and the spinoff ‘Oasis’. As is usual when this happens, Netflix spends more money on special effects; they bring in new writers; the scripts and the acting go down hill; and now what was a 5 paws series is now downgraded (in my mind at least) to a 2 or 3 paw one . I’ve finished Season 3 and I am working on Season 4 – I think where it went wrong was that when they renewed it some of the major actors were unavailable and they decided to go on with what they had But one of the major roles that left – Macarena – is supposedly coming back, so it might get better. Golf goes on - The Corales Punta Cana Championship in the Dominican is currently underway – all four Canadians made the cut – Michael Gligic finished tied for 4th, d David Hearn tied for 13th , Roger Sloan tied for 22nd, and Taylor Pendrith tied for 34th. Pretty good showing for the Canadians!! I was going to write up on some anniversaries last week but they will have to wait … I have a house to go look at!! Got to go … have a great and safe week … we will see you in a bit!!
