Another weird week – 25 C (81 F) on Friday, back down to freezing 0 C ( 32 F) the last couple of nights – and they are forecasting snow for this coming Friday Doug the Dog made his first prey kill this week, or not– okay, it was only a tiny mouse but he attacked it like a chew toy!! Last Sunday I made a Baked Balsamic Chicken Parmesan with Fresh Spaghettini – lots of chicken, cheese and pasta. Last week ended up being turkey and pie week – turkey pot pie, steak and kidney pie, turkey curry, turkey pasta casserole and lots of left overs Oh, and burgers last Tuesday - that's Doug's in the picture on the left (yes, he gets his own burger). Tonight, I’ll be doing a Pork Roast with Red Cabbage in a Balsamic and Brown Sugar sauce. Kelly and I watched and finished ‘The Last Word’, a German dramedy about a woman, Karla, suddenly widowed, who decides to become a professional eulogist. It’s a funny, sad, heart wrenching series about how different people cope with the death of their loved ones. We are looking for some new shows to watch – tried ‘Virgin River’, uh, mehh, too much like a Hallmark movie – and ‘After Life’ with Rickie Gervais, not bad but another show about dealing with the dearly departed. I’m Still following ‘La Nina’ – I’ve now done 46 out of 83 episodes. I like it – but it’s starting to wear a little thin, it’s like the writers started running out of ideas half-way through the series and added some rather lame sub-plots There are a couple of other Spanish / Columbian shows that have just started on Netflix – I might take a look at them. I am following the PGA Tournament Zozo Championship in Sherwood, California = 4 Canadians qualified (again) but there was no cut (again) – an invitational that had all players play all four rounds. Seems like all the golfers are setting really low scores in most of the tournaments this year – I wonder if it’s because there’s no gallery / followers allowed at the tournaments because of COVID – no distractions for the professional golfers, so better play overall!! Be interesting to see if there are any of upsets in the NFL games today – and if with all the tested positive players whether there will be a Super Bowl this year. Figures – my Seahawks are doing great so far (and Russell Wilson looking good for MVP). They are playing Arizona tonight – which might work against them – Cardinals have had Seattle’s number the last couple of years. But I hope they go 6-0 after tonight. Go Hawks’!! Have a great and safe week … we will see you in a bit!!
