We were still in the deep freeze up until yesterday – nights of -18 C – but this week will be springlike weather – today started at -10, it will be + 10C this afternoon, +12 tomorrow, the same the rest of the week … until next Sunday – 0 C and snow We went on a road trip Saturday - our first in about three months - drove around Southwestern Ontario just to get out of the house. Doug the Dog was pretty excited to go along - that's him in the SUV at left 🙂 I start my new job next week – so I will be spending a lot of time this week re-educating myself on some processes that I haven’t used in about twenty years Not a lot happening news wise – Trump still stirring up the pot down south; a massive PR meltdown with the Royal Family and the British Kardashians – uh, I mean Harry and Meghan. I wish they would just shut up and get on with enlarging their bank account. COVID went back last week to Orange (restricted) – people expected to go even lower this week – like back to yellow – but the numbers have started to spike up again, so we should take our time. The vaccine shipments have upped – I might be able to get my first shot by June – I could get it this month with the Astra Zeneca, but I’m hesitant about a vaccine with an expiry date on it Down south they have been starting to open up restaurants and businesses to full capacity in a couple of states – like Texas and Florida – let’s see how that works out for them during March break Wayyy too soon Okay, on to food … still a mixture of odds and ends – Steak and Asparagus; Cream of Broccoli with toasted cheese muffins; Chicken Salad (gigantic, it was about a pound of food on the plate); Roast Pork with Roasted Brussel Sprouts and mashed spuds; and made a Vietnamese Bo’Kok yesterday – let’s just call it an Asian beef stew – it turned out to be pretty good, we will do it again. Experimented again with the Vitamix - made blueberry, mango, and kiwi smoothies yesterday. Kelly and I are still watching ‘Longmire’ – we are into Season 5 now – still a little hit and miss with huge holes in the plot, but only 18 episodes to go. I binge watched and finished ‘Perdida’ (Stolen Away, not the other ‘Perdida’) – it turned out to be excellent and rather unusual for Netflix – every loose end and subplot were completely explained by the end of the series. … With the exception of the last scene – it looks like there will have to be a Season 2 I’m looking around for a replacement series to watch, but haven’t found one yet So I watched golf instead all weekend. There was one PGA event this past week – the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bayhill, Florida. One Canadian made the cut – Corey Connors who finished in 3rd!! He played great throughout, made a couple of minor blips on the last two holes, but had a payday of $641.7 K U.S. and moved up to 24th in the Fedex standings, congrats Corey!! Got to go … Have a great and safe week … we will see you in a bit!!
