I was working half-hours the past week, trying to get back in work-mode – but still a little stressed. I thought the long weekend would be relaxing and stress free, but I was wrong. We are making a new home office and required a new desk – easy, right??  It looked good in the show room – however, taking the 3 billion pieces out of the box (and half of them not numbered) and trying to put together took almost 4 hours – and a near nervous breakdown ☹ Luckily making quiche for supper took only about an hour ( 30 minutes to bake the pastry, 30 minutes to bake the quiche) 😊Dougie the Doggie is doing well and has settled in quite well – except for having to vacuum the house two or three times a week – Dougie is pretty hairy and he tends  to leave bits and pieces of fur on the floor (sofas, beds – if he could walk on the ceiling it would be there too) wherever he goes. Weather has been pretty weird – it’s either too hot and you can’t sleep, or it’s too cold – but I think autumn has arrived.  Went to Ridgetown last Sunday  with my buddy ‘Ping-Pong-Paddle-Pat’ (in the picture – another fashion statement) – to take our rain check from the week before – actually got to finish all 18 holes!! It actually started to rain on our way back – we were going to  play at Wardsville today, and – yup, rained out, one heck of a thunder storm last night.     Tonight is Stuffed Green Peppers with veal and pork – Kelly’s cooking. She also boiled  and pickled a few quarts of beets. Over the last week Kelly was working the late shift until 7 each day – so I tried to make quick easy meals that we could have around 8 0’clock. Monday was Chicken Cordon Bleau with Green Beans; Tuesday Lima Bean and Ground Pork Casserole; Wednesday Pork Burritos with Fresh Guacamole; Thursday BBQ Italian Sausages with Sauerkraut; Friday Thai Green Curry Chicken; Saturday Steak and Baked Potato; and yesterday the Quiche. Kelly and I have finished watching the Spanish series  ‘Morocco – Love In The Time Of War’  - it was excellent – can’t wait for Season 2 if they have one. We will start watching ‘Cable Girls’ – a Spanish period piece from the late 1920’s – it looks promising and has 3 seasons. I’ve started and finished a Polish series – ‘Signs’ set in a small mountain village in the south of Poland. It’s a police mystery thriller, and wasn’t bad – but too many subplots to follow. There is a Season 2 coming on Netflix next year, maybe it will clear up some of the confusion from Season 1. Started a new Columbian series – ‘Wild District’ – really, really good with lots of background on how Columbia reintegrated the guerillas after the peace treaty. It follows ‘Yei, Yei’ – a guerilla who turned himself in after fighting government troops for 20 years after he was kidnapped when he was 13. I’m watching Season 2 now – I binge watched Season 1 – and I hope there will be a Season 3. Time to go – I want to watch the final of the PGA Tour Championship – Dustin Johnson should win that (and $15 Million U.S. if he does - but the lone Canadian Mackenzie Hughes is doing good, he's moved from 28th spot to 14th - if he holds on to that spot, that's good for about $620K U.S. . Have a great and safe week … we will see you in a bit!!
