I meant to update a week ago but life has been extremely stressful … and sad … over the last two weeks ☹ And that’s all I’m going to say about it … ☹ On a brighter note … Dougie the Doggie has adapted quite well to his new home … and thankfully he lets us live here 😊 He’s not as skittish as he was around men … he follows me around a lot now. But not as much as his mum … Kelly … he loves his mum!! 😊 And runs everywhere after her in the back yard … hard to tell who has more fun playing tug of war with ‘ropy thing’ – Dougie or Kelly 😊 I haven’t had any more cross country adventures … and he doesn’t seem to want to run away any more … thank God!! If any of you need / want to go on a diet … get a dog!! Dougie gets his two walks a day … which means I get my two walks a day … 😊 I needed to buy a new suit the other day … I tried on the four that I had in my closet … but … they had all shrunk!! But then this morning I wondered if all the walks with Dougie were helping me lose weight … and in three weeks … I’ve lost sixteen pounds!! 😊 At this rate the four suits might unshrink again!! 😊 It’s still been very hot and muggy the last few weeks – but not a lot of rain – except when I go golfing. I went a couple of times last week – one other time was rained out - first out to Wardsville where we got to play Alvin and Theodore (yup, 3 nines – named after the Chipmunks), great weather and not too hot; and then Arkona again last Sunday where we were rained out before – and yes, thunder and lightning to the North – got stuck in the rain for 30 minutes, almost got hit by lightning twice, but managed to finish with my best score this year. Going to Ridgetown this weekend (and it has five par fives) and the weather forecast – possible thunder and lightning, must be a Sunday thing around here. Tonight is left-over hot and sour soup with toast – lots of pork and shrimp in there to fill you up 😊Over the last three weeks we’ve cooked something different almost every night – except for left over nights. We have had comfort food like Quebecois Tourtiere; fresh shrimp spring rolls with dipping sauce and hot and sour soup; two different types of curry –Beef and Potato, Green Thai Curry; Singapore Noodles with Shrimp and Pork; Mediterranean Chicken with Olives and Tomatoes – I’m trying a different version with cod this weekend, and maybe an orzo pasta to go with it; the list goes on and on – I usually post what we are having for dinner on Facebook. On Netflix Kelly and I have continued watching ‘Frankie and Grace’ - we are on the last season now, have to wait for their final season starting in September. I ‘ve finally completed all three seasons of ‘Bonus Family’ – first season was good, second started to drift off, and was happy to see the last season end – I think they changed writers halfway through and there was a lack of cohesiveness or continuity. Kelly and I have almost finished ‘Good Girls’ Season 3 – it’s pretty good and I am sure they will do a Season 4. I’ve switched back to Danish tv and have almost completed ‘The Rain’ – an apocalyptic thriller about when scientists mess with nature and create a rain borne virus that almost wipes out the Scandinavian population. I think it’s extremely well done and acted – only two more episodes to go through Season 3. Staying with the Danish series, ‘Rita’ Season 5 starts this Sunday – I really enjoyed the first four seasons – a dramedy about an unconventional school teacher. Oh, got to go … Doug wants to take me out for a walk 😊 I’ll update this coming Monday. Until then, have a great and safe week … we will see you in a bit!!
