A very quick and easy supper dish to make - 5 minutes preparation and 30 minutes to cook. Chicken breasts rubbed with brown sugar and spices and wrapped in bacon. Rub them, wrap them, and cook them - it's that easy!!
Call it Boeuf Bourguignon if you want to be fancy, beef stew if you do not. A rich beef stew with red wine, bacon, pearl onions and mushrooms . Serve with noodles or on mashed potatoes. Easy to make - but it will take about 3 hours cooking time
Bratwurst Casserole with Sauerkraut and Potatoes
Large pieces of bratwurst sausage cooked in a casserole with sauerkraut, potatoes, bacon and cheese. Serve with buttered toasted rye bread. An easy to prepare autumn or Oktoberfest supper.
Chicken Breasts With Cheese and Prosciutto
Serves two and takes about 15 minutes preparation and 30 minutes to bake.
Each breast is flattened and rolled up with cheese and prosciutto inside, breaded and baked in the oven.
Served with a green vegetable, it's a simple, yet elegant, and tasty supper dish
A different type of turkey pot pie. I made with leftovers such as turkey with onions, mushrooms, red pepper, jalapeno and cheese. Cheese and jalapeno? Yes, Cheese and jalapeno for that extra little spice .... and Skyr. Skyr?? Icelandic yoghurt made into a creamy sauce and the whole mixture baked in fresh pastry with a nice brown crust
Homemade Pierogies With Cheese and Potato
Perogies, who doesn't love them? It doesn't matter if your of Polish, Russian, or Ukrainian descent. These delicious half moon dumplings are stuffed with cheese and potato filling, spiced with onion and garlic and served with onions, bacon, and peppers. Add some sour cream on the side. Yummm!!
Hungarian Meatballs With Mushroom Gravy
A tasty variation of Swedish meatballs. Veal and pork meatballs done Hungarian style with a thick gravy of mushrooms, paprika and dill served on a bed of noodles or mashed potatoes
Pork Loin Roast With Potatoes, Onions, and Carrots
A hearty, tasty supper of a pork loin done with a mustard and garlic rub and roasted in the oven along with potatoes, onions, and carrots.
An old classic standby for supper - layers of ground veal and pork (traditionally lamb or beef) topped with corn and mashed potatoes, and baked until golden in the oven

Want a Sunday dinner that doesn't take long to prepare? How about a hearty, tasty supper of a beef roast covered with a mustard and garlic rub and roasted in the oven along with potatoes, onions, and carrots.
An all in one dinner that can be prepared in 20 minutes and roasted in the oven for about 45.
I actually found this recipe in a 60 year old Chatelaine cook book. Real comfort food, great for a cool autumn or winter supper. Ground pork and lima beans done in a casserole of mushrooms, onions, and tomatoes and topped with a golden crust of breadcrumbs and cheese.

Fresh Raspberry Pie - who doesn't love pie? Served hot or cold, rich fruit filling in pastry baked from scratch. Use raspberries or any other fresh fruit. Takes 15 minutes to prepare - 45 minutes to bake

Swedish meatballs? On a Canadian Page? What's more Canadian than going to Ikea and having Swedish Meatballs for breakfast? Except these ones are 10 times better!! Veal and pork meatballs done Swedish style with a thick gravy of dill flavored sour cream (or Skyr) served on a bed of noodles or mashed potatoes

Serve with mashed potatoes or a green vegetable (in picture - green beans with paprika)

A rich and delicious Egg Pie (because real men don't eat quiche) made with ham, 4 cheeses, onions, and yellow pepper - baked in a fluffy pastry shell made from scratch.

Makes two 9-inch Quiches (Quichi ??)
While not typically Canadian, it is a Quebecois variation of a French dish. Easy to make, delicious to have for supper. Sole filets with a medley of vegetables poached in Vermouth and topped with Swiss cheese. Serve with a green vegetable such as green beans, broccoli, asparagus, or roasted Brussel sprouts and a side of white rice.
For a different flavour and texture substitute haddock filets for the sole.
