The weather is finally spring like (although the second week of January) and a lot milder … but not a lot we can do outside now ☹ Ontario just started a province wide lockdown … even more severe than last March and April … and we will be pretty restricted in what we can do until at least the 11th of February (so even Wiarton Willie, our prognosticating ground hog, will have to wear a mask on 2nd February and look for his shadow virtually) ☹ … And that craziness in Washington is still going on … Trump has been impeached, but still has to go on trial in the Senate – and that might take a while, and getting a 67% consensus to declare him guilty is between slim and none – and slim has already left town. Hopefully things will quiet down before and after Biden’s inauguration on the 20th of January – seeing about 1000 National Guards sleeping on the floors of the Capitol Building before the vote was mind blowing. My New Year’s resolutions are still alive – now four new languages to learn … no beer drinking (except for watching ‘Hawks football games – so that’s now over), I’ve lost a little weight – but those darn shirts still don’t fit 😊 We had leftovers last week (again, I try to cook for two and a dog, end up with enough for two meals)… I tried a new recipe … Indonesian Beef Rendang (voted as one of the top fifty best restaurant meals in the world), it took about five hours to prepare, but, man, was it good 😊 …And tonight I’m going to try something different with the leftover Rendang – a Beef Rendang Wrap, done up like a Shwarma!! We also had Shepherd’s Pie, French Onion Soup, Burgers, … the usual suppertime meals 😊 I finally finished watching ‘All For Love’ on Netflix – the first 25 episodes were okay, but the last 44 were pretty bad – plots spiralling out of control, bad acting – too bad, it turned out to be such a disappointment – but, as with most telenovelas, once you start you have to finish 😊 Kelly and I are almost finished season 2 of ‘Yellowstone’ – it’s gotten better, but in my opinion the only good actor is Kevin Costner, most of the others look like they just got out of acting school 😊. I’m going to go back and finish Monarca – it has pretty good reviews, and I like what I’ve seen so far. The PGA ‘Sentry Tournament of Champions’ took place in Hawaii last weekend –out of 42 players there were two Canadians, Nick Taylor (tied 25 for $55 K U.S.) and Mackenzie Hughes (Last place – but still $36K U.S.. This week the players are still in Hawaii – ‘The Sony Open’ – there will be 6 Canadians playing. Well the NFL Playoff Wildcard (Super Wildcard) is over – four out of six favorites won. …And two of six favorites lost … Pittsburgh being upset by Cleveland, and …bye, bye ‘Hawks – one bad play to a whining wide receiver (who will remain nameless but plays with a baby soother in his mouth) who complained about not having any targets – and hey, interception, touchdown by the Rams ☹ But they had a pretty good year and I’m looking forward to seeing them next fall. So … my team to cheer on now? Let’s go, Buffalo!! Have a great and safe week … we will see you in a bit!!
