Here’s another memory from last year on the Celebrity Silhouette. Yup, that’s Little Kelly again, sitting in her favorite chair. And me learning a little Norwegian, and having Norwegian explained to me by a large Norwegian. And three weeks today will be our first sea day on Silhouette – we’ll have a few drinks on the ‘grassy knoll’ (Deck 15 aft by the Sunset Bar is 1/3 acre of real grass!!), a couple of martinis at the Martini Bar, wine in Cellar Masters – you get the idea. I’ve been studying some of the languages that I hope to be using on the cruise – Indonesian, Dutch, Norwegian, and Spanish. I’ve also added some more travel phrases to the website along with a new language – Finnish. Probably the hardest European language to learn – 17 noun cases, yup – 17!! I just finished Season 1 of Bordertown on Netflix – excellent show and it’s helping me with my Finnish studies (I don’t watch dubbed versions, prefer shows in their original language). Kelly and I watched a new series on Netflix – The Forest, not bad, but kind of falls apart towards the end (Le Foret – French with English subtitles, 6 episodes) and started a new one – Case (Icelandic with English subtitles – 9 episodes) – which is extremely weird but we will finish it. Today is Remembrance Day in Canada … there has been lots of coverage on tv … and that always brings back memories. My grand father served in the Austrian Army in WW I, my father in the Polish Army and Navy in WW II, and I was in the Canadian Navy for over 18 years. Oh, I added two new recipes … Lamb Meatballs in Curry Sauce and Tagliatelle With Meat Sauce … that I think you might enjoy
